Grade 12 students of Don Bosco Technical High School returned to regular classes on Monday, June 29, 2020 following directives of the Ministry of Education, Government of Liberia. The school resumption for the senior students is in view of the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which is expected to be held in the month of August.
The students are expected to wear a mask at all times on campus. Besides, washing hands and temperature checks are compulsory. The students are happy to be back in school and continue learning after a period of lockdown and restrictions.
The school resumption was preceded by meetings of parents, students and school staff to create awareness and to set up health and safety protocols. The schools were closed since March 2020 following the declaration of health emergency in the country to contain the spread of COVID-19. Liberia was by far the least affected country in West Africa. However, the infection rate has gone up since the reduction of lockdown measures. Currently the country has over 800 cases.
